THE START OF A DREAM
Welcome to the Local Church Leader website! I am so grateful that you have stopped by to check out what is happening! It may not seem like much to you, but you are scrolling through and clicking on a dream. This is a dream that started some time ago when one of the leaders at the church I lead (www.mylifespring.ca) began to prophetically pray for more divine stories. That prophetic prayer has stuck with me and has been repeated over and over as we celebrate every person and their story at our church.
One morning God began to speak to me about the stories that are happening through YOUR leadership, your ministry, your church. And as I prayed, I was suddenly overwhelmed with the goodness of God and the many stories that are happening all around the world. Then I had this thought, “Let’s try to capture it!” Which was then immediately followed by another thought…
“That is literally the dumbest idea you’ve ever had.”
And believe me…I’ve had a lot of dumb ideas (my wife can confirm).
However, God wasn’t going to let it go. A good friend of mine, Dr. Mark Jones from Mannahouse Church in Portland, Oregon (www.mannahouse.church) was visiting our church for a weekend of prophetic ministry and I happened to toss this silly idea his way. Well, to make a long story short, by the end of the weekend we were recording a podcast together as a seed expression of what God desired to do.
So began the dream of the Local Church Leader website.
My desire is to tell your story to other pastors and leaders. Maybe God is using you in an amazing way to touch lives…but nobody really knows about it. Well, I would love to tell your story! On top of that, there may be resources and ideas you’ve created that would be so helpful with others. So why not put it all in one place where other leaders can come and be inspired? Maybe it’s a story of victory, maybe it’s a story of pain. But either way, your life and leadership can help someone else who is looking for help in an area where you have experienced a breakthrough.
Right now, we are starting with a leadership blog and we are working on a podcast which will be up and running soon. In the meantime, if you have a story to tell, I’d love to hear from you. I came to Lifespring Church a little over three years ago looking for a church for my family to grow in. We had tried a number of churches and could not seem to find a good fit for them. I was looking for a place that taught us how to live life to the fullest by using the word of God, a place where daily prayer was a way of life and to build a stronger relationship with Our Father, where love and support is more than just words but action, a place where the Holy Spirit was leading lives forward everyday. A big part of leadership is being who you say you are and helping others to learn to lead.I found these things and much more in this time . Thank you pastors Bryan and Dyane for your dedication and love for His great work and to all the leaders of this congregation who continue to step up and lead wherever they can.
